Amir Ashkenazi, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Amir drives the overall strategy and manages operations. Most recently, Amir was Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Shopping.com (formerly DealTime.com), a leading online shopping service that helps consumers make informed purchasing decisions by comparing products, prices, and stores Web-wide. Amir launched and successfully led Shopping.com’s technology and research efforts. Shopping.com completed an initial public offering in October 2004; the company was later acquired by eBay in August 2005. Previously, Amir was Director of Research for Commtouch Software. He studied Computer Science and Economics at Tel Aviv University. As an industry leader, he has been a guest speaker on numerous conference panels including ad:tech NY, Streaming Media West, AlwaysOn and Beet.tv Roundtable. He has also contributed industry bylines to Forbes.com and Ad Age’s WebVideoReport.com.
Toby Gabriner, President
Toby is responsible for developing strategy, as well as driving marketing and all aspects of revenue generation. Toby started his career in the online advertising industry in 2000 as President of Freestyle Interactive, and led and grew the agency until its acquisition by Carat Interactive in 2003. At Carat Interactive, he started out as COO and grew the agency from 100 to over 200 people, while increasing revenues and profits by 60%. He eventually took on the role of President where he oversaw all aspects of the interactive division of Carat in the US, including five offices, 275 employees and a stable of blue chip clients including Pfizer, Adidas, RadioShack, Kodak and Philips. Under his guidance, revenue and profits grew over 50% annually and media billings grew to over $300M from a base of $75M. In 2006, Toby joined [x+1], a marketing optimization and media company, as CEO and helped to shape the company's current focus on media and site optimization. Most recently, he was President of Tribal Fusion where he was responsible for new business, account management, ad operations, international expansion, marketing and product management.
Teg Grenager, VP Product & Co-Founder
Teg runs the product management group at Adap.tv, and is responsible for translating market dynamics and customer needs into a coherent product strategy and detailed specifications for each release. He interfaces closely with engineering, sales, account management, technical support, and of course Adap.tv's customers. Before founding Adap.tv, Teg was a PhD candidate in the Computer Science Department at Stanford University with a research focus on machine learning and natural language processing. Prior to graduate school, Teg provided strategic consulting services to many Fortune 100 companies with global management consulting firm Arthur D. Little. Teg holds a MS in Computer Science from Stanford University and a BA from Brown University. As an industry thought-leader, he has been a guest speaker on numerous conference panels including ad:tech NY and the Online Video Platform Summit.
Sean Behr, VP Partners
Sean is responsible for helping Adap.tv’s growing customer base capture the full potential of online video advertising. Together with the Account Management and Technical Support teams, they aim to “wow” Adap.tv’s customers with outstanding support and amazing results. Sean has held various management roles at Shopping.com, a leading online comparison shopping service, including roles in human resources, sales, product management, and strategy development. Shopping.com completed an initial public offering in October 2004; the company was later acquired by eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) in August 2005. Sean holds a BA in History and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and has spoken on Internet and e-commerce conferences and workshops nationwide.
Eric Lan, VP Engineering
Eric Lan is responsible for all aspects of Adap.tv’s engineering and operations. Eric brings over 20 years of engineering management and executive experience to the team. Most recently, Eric was Vice President, Engineering at Birst, Inc., the leading SaaS provider for automated business intelligence and analytics solutions, where he was responsible for engineering, operations, and delivery of solutions to customers. Prior to joining Birst, Eric served as Senior Vice President of Products at E.piphany, overseeing product development of all E.piphany product lines. Eric served in similar roles at eConvergent and Remedy Corporation, and also served as Vice President and Chief Architect at Hyperion Solutions. Eric has an MS in Computer Science from Indiana University and a BS in Computer Science from Tamkang University in Taiwan.
Henk Van Niekerk, VP Business Development
Henk van Niekerk leads the team that seeks out and develops new relationships with online video publisher and major content partners, both locally and abroad, to increase the adoption and usage of adap.tv's online video advertising and monitization platform and services.
Before joining adap.tv, Henk served as Vice President of the Tribal Fusion Publisher Network, where he oversaw business development, publisher relations and inventory operations for over 2800 online advertising publishers. Prior to Tribal Fusion, Henk served as Vice President of Strategy for mediazone.com, where he was responsible for monitization strategies, product and video content programming for a portfolio of live and on-demand online video destinations including Wimbledon Live, Rugby World Cup and FIBA. Prior to mediazone.com, Henk served as Vice President of Consumer Services for CNET Networks Entertainment division, managing gamespot.com, gamefaqs.com and gamerankings.com. Before joining CNET Networks, Henk held several business development, sales and marketing positions in the video gaming, entertainment and technology industries.
Henk holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Finance from Stellenbosch University.
